A Message From Our Founders

 

We started Friendly Connections because we have a genuine passion for helping people, with or without disabilities, who may need support in their lives.

 

Just as importantly, we have always cared about making people happy and making them smile. We believe support should feel personal, positive, and human. The people we serve should feel comfortable with the staff around them and know they are being treated with kindness, patience, and respect.

 

That is also what we look for in the people who join our team. We want our staff to be professional and dependable, but we also want them to be happy, friendly, approachable, and the kind of people who can bring a smile to someone’s day.

 

Friendly Connections is a family-founded nonprofit serving individuals and families throughout New Jersey. Through our NJ Division of Developmental Disabilities (DDD) programs, community-based services, Direct Support Professionals, and our Mental Health Division, we work to provide meaningful support across different areas of people’s lives.

 

Our Mental Health Division provides outpatient mental health services to members of the community, while our DDD services focus on helping individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities build independence, strengthen relationships, participate in their communities, and work toward personal goals.

 

Friendly Connections has grown since we first started, but the reason we created it has not changed. We want to help people, care about the people we serve, and hopefully make their lives a little happier along the way.
