DDD Training on Positive Staff Interactions Is October 7
The quality of disability services depends heavily on the everyday relationship between the person receiving support and the staff member providing it.
New Jersey DDD is offering a free October 7, 2026 behavioral-support training called 'Developing Positive Interactions between Support Staff and Individuals' from 2 p.m. to 3:30 p.m.
Positive interactions are not an extra part of support. They affect trust, communication, participation, comfort, and whether someone feels respected in their own daily life.
Friendly Connections believes staff should know the person they support, communicate respectfully, listen, and build genuine relationships rather than simply complete tasks.
