Direct Support Professional (DSP)

Compensation: $20.00 per hour

Job Summary

Friendly Connections, Inc. is hiring compassionate, dependable, and motivated Direct Support Professionals (DSPs) throughout New Jersey.

Direct Support Professionals provide one-on-one support to individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities in their homes and communities. This position is ideal for someone who is patient, reliable, respectful, and committed to helping others build independence and improve their quality of life.

Responsibilities

• Provide individualized support to individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities.

• Assist with independent living and daily life skills.

• Support participation in community activities and appointments.

• Help individuals work toward personal goals.

• Provide transportation when required.

• Maintain accurate and timely service documentation.

• Communicate with families, support coordinators, and members of the individual’s support team.

• Follow all safety, training, and organizational requirements.

• Promote dignity, independence, choice, and community inclusion.

Qualifications

Applicants must:

• Be at least 18 years old.

• Have a high school diploma or equivalent.

• Possess a valid driver’s license.

• Have reliable transportation.

• Be able to successfully complete required background checks and training.

• Demonstrate patience, reliability, compassion, and professionalism.

• Be comfortable working independently in community-based settings.

Previous experience supporting individuals with intellectual or developmental disabilities is preferred but not required.
