Pre-Employment Transition Services Webinar Can Help NJ Students Prepare for Work
October is a useful month for New Jersey families who are helping a student or young adult prepare for work and adult services.
The New Jersey Division of Developmental Disabilities is offering a free webinar on October 15, 2026 called 'An Overview of Pre-Employment Transition Services (Pre-ETS).' The session covers five core Pre-ETS components and explains opportunities that can help students with disabilities explore careers, build skills, and prepare for employment, post-secondary education, training, and adult life.
For families, support coordinators, and school teams, Pre-ETS can be especially important because transition planning works best when employment goals are discussed before a student exits school.
Friendly Connections encourages families to start early, ask questions, and use state resources to understand what employment and transition supports are available.
