Employment can be an important part of independence, confidence, community connection, and daily routine for people with disabilities.

The New Jersey Division of Developmental Disabilities is hosting a free October 8, 2026 webinar called 'Employment for All: A Workshop for Individuals and Families on Supported Employment.'

The session will discuss why employment can be meaningful and how parents and families can support someone’s success at work.

For families who are unsure whether employment is realistic, supported employment can help break the process into practical steps such as identifying interests, building work skills, developing routines, and providing support on the job when needed.

Friendly Connections provides supported employment and career-planning services through New Jersey’s DDD system and encourages families to begin with the person’s own interests and goals.
