We are hiring a Direct Support Professional (DSP), caregiver or community support worker for an in-person, community-based position in Oak Ridge, the Morris/Passaic area, New Jersey.
Position details
Location: Oak Ridge, NJ. Pay: $20 per hour. Time commitment: Approximately 10 hours per week. Weekday daytime availability; final shift details will be confirmed with qualified candidates. Work setting: in person, not remote. Opportunities for additional assignments may be available separately.
What the job involves
At Friendly Connections, we help people with disabilities participate in their communities, develop skills, build connections, and work toward personal goals. DSP responsibilities vary by assignment and may include supporting community activities, daily living skills, goal-focused participation, transportation when required, accurate documentation, and respectful communication with the authorized support team.
Who should apply
We welcome dependable and compassionate applicants, including career changers with transferable experience in customer service, education, caregiving, recreation or other people-focused roles. Prior DSP experience is helpful but is not always required. Applicants need a high school diploma or equivalent, reliable transportation, a valid driver's license and vehicle insurance for assignments requiring driving, and willingness to complete required background checks, training and First Aid/CPR certification. Drivers transporting individuals must meet applicable age and driving requirements, generally age 21 or older.
