Looking for DSP, Direct Care, Caregiver or Community Support Jobs in NJ?
People do not always search for the same job title. Some people search for DSP jobs in NJ. Others look for direct care jobs, caregiver jobs, community support jobs, disability support jobs, job coach jobs, or human services jobs. If the work you want involves helping people participate more fully in everyday community life, some of those searches may lead to similar kinds of opportunities.
At Friendly Connections, we hire for community-based roles in New Jersey. Our openings change, so the best place to see what is currently available is our Careers page.
Direct Support Professional jobs in New Jersey
Our Direct Support Professionals help people work toward individualized goals in real community settings. Depending on the assignment, that may involve community activities, transportation, communication, daily living skills, employment-related goals, appointments, recreation, or other supports connected to the person’s plan.
DSP work is in person. We serve people throughout New Jersey, so openings can vary by county, town, schedule, and the needs of the person receiving support.
What if you searched for caregiver or direct care jobs?
Job-search websites use many different labels. A person searching for caregiver jobs, direct care jobs, community support jobs, developmental disability jobs, or disability support jobs may be looking for work that overlaps with parts of a DSP role. We use the title Direct Support Professional when that is the actual position we are hiring for, but we understand that applicants may start with different search terms.
Job coach and employment-support roles
Some of our openings may involve employment support or job coaching. These roles can include helping a person identify employment goals, prepare for interviews, search for work, build workplace skills, communicate with employers, and succeed after placement. Availability changes, so applicants should check the current job listing rather than assume a position is open.
Social work and mental-health careers
We also operate a separate mental-health program. When we have social-work or psychotherapy openings, those jobs are listed separately from our disability-support positions. Licensing, supervision, work location, and scheduling requirements depend on the role.
Start with our current openings
We do not want applicants to chase outdated job listings. Our Careers page is the best starting point for current openings and application links.
