New Jersey Supports More Coordinated Mental Health Care
Reviewed October 11, 2026.
Getting help can be harder when every part of care involves a different office. New Jersey's Department of Human Services announced contracts on October 5 to support programs that bring mental health services, addiction treatment and primary care together in one location.
The state says the programs aim to reduce barriers and make care easier to coordinate for people with several health needs. The announcement describes an investment in selected providers; it does not guarantee that a particular appointment or service is available today.
If you are considering care, ask the practice which services it offers, whether it accepts your insurance, how referrals work and what appointments are currently available. Those practical details can make a difference when deciding where to begin.
Friendly Connections provides psychotherapy in Matawan, open to the public. Our services are separate from the state contracts described above. Contact us to discuss current scheduling and insurance participation.
